Annual collection for the Diocesan Pastoral Development Office will be taken up at all Masses this weekend – Sat/Sun 12th/13th May. Your generosity to this collection enables the office to continue to offer training and formation for pastoral groups and parish ministries, adult faith development opportunities, and the preparatory programme towards the World Meeting of Families.

Nano Nagle International Pilgrimage Walk

Confirmation was held in Knockavilla Church on Wednesday 2nd May, where Scoil Mhaoilíosa, Castlelack & Gurrane pupils joined together for this special occasion. Tidy Towns Work Nights
Each Tuesday night at 8pm volunteers will meet at the corner by the traffic lights to work at different venues in the village and along the approach roads. Help is always welcome and much appreciated. Tidy Towns is all about community and our slogan is ‘Together is better’.
Scoil Mhaoilíosa would like to say well done to our Girls who are through to the Sciath na Scol final and also to Fiona Twohig who will be representing our school on the Cork Primary Game team.
Bluebell Picnic in Dromkeen Wood. At the moment Dromkeen Wood is awash with bluebells. On Sunday why not bring a picnic basket and enjoy the beauty of the wood (weather dependent).

Innishannon – Knockavilla Defibrillator Group
Are currently organising C.P.R and Defibrillator training for anyone in the parish wishing to avail of it. Our next course will be held on Monday, May 21st in Upton, commencing at 6.30pm. These courses are led by trained personnel and you will receive a certificate [Irish Heart Foundation]. Our next skills night, for all trained personnel, will be held on Monday, May 14th. 8.30-9.30pm, in Upton. This refresher only takes a few minutes. Important to keep these skills fresh in your mind.
Gurrane National School Sports Day
Invites you to our Annual Open Sports Day, Friday 18th May in Brinny GAA grounds. A fun family event featuring tiny tots, three legged race, sack race, long jump and sprint races. Team events include sprint relays and our famous Tug of War competition with reigning champions of 30 years Glasheen Boys NS returning to defend the title. All welcome, Registration from 6pm and first race from 6.30pm, See you there!.
Castlelack National School Sports Day
Castlelack are having their OPEN annual sports day in the Valley Rovers grounds in Brinny, Friday 25th May at 6.30. All welcome.

Ballymartle I.C.A Annual Outing
This year our annual Outing will take place on Tuesday 12th June. Coach will leave Riverstick village at 8.30am and travel to Corbett Court, Ballyhea for full Irish Breakfast. We will then set out to the beautiful town of Killaloe and from here we will go on a Cruise of the River Shannon. We will then make our way back to the historical village of Adare where you will have some free time. We return to Corbett Court for evening meal and a sing song etc. on the way home. Cormac O’Connor is putting a full seater luxurious coach at our disposal and if any other group or individuals would like to join us you would be more than welcome. Contact. Cork Theology, Pot Luck Event, Building a Theology of Family
Wednesday 16th May 7.30pm Theological Potluck 2018. : Northridge House, St. Luke’s Education Centre, Ferney Road, Mahon, Cork. Bring something (an object, a piece of music, a poem etc.) that expresses an understanding of family emerging from experience. Group discussion. Once again, this year, we invite your participation. Items brought will be a stimulus for discussion on an understanding of family emerging from experience. Potluck refers both to the ‘fayre’ for discussion and to the ‘fayre’ to be shared at the table. Come and bring food for thought and maybe bring some nibbles to share as well. Why not bring a Friend?
