Coffee Morning

In aid of Marymount Hospice will be held in the home of Alice Taylor from 10am on Thursday 20th September.

Innishannon/Knockavilla Defibrillator Group

Are currently organising C.P.R and Defibrillator training for clubs /groups or any individual in the parish wishing to avail of it.  Our next general course will be held on Monday, November 12th in Upton, commencing at 6.30pm.  Club/group training can be organised to suit groups. These courses are led by trained personnel and you will receive a certificate [Irish Heart Foundation]   on completion.  For further information contact: Nora 086-2851553, Tom 086-8207540, Siobhán 087-6882265.  Our next skills night, for all trained personnel, will be held on Monday, September 24th. 8.15 – 9.30pm, in Upton. This refresher only takes a few minutes. Important to keep acquired skills fresh in your mind.

Monthly meeting on Wednesday 19th September at 8.30pm in Knockavilla Hall.  New members welcome.

Candlelight

This year Candlelight celebrates its 35th Birthday.  Over those years it has helped to finance the sculpture of The Blacksmith and The Horse and Rider and to restore the Historic map at the back of St Mary’s.  It has preserved the history of the parish and has kept going because the people of this parish contributed articles and photographs.  We will again be delighted to hear from you and if you have not already done so why not do it this year.  Deadline 1st October.

River Rhythms Choir

A mixed voice choir, a group of women & men of all ages and musical abilities who meet Tuesday evenings 8-9.45pm in Innishannon School Hall (Scoil Eoin).  An enthusiastic and energetic bunch who enjoy singing in local concerts and the Cork Choral Festival yearly.  Musical reading ability is not necessary.  Doors will be open for new members when rehearsals commence Tuesday 18th September.  Check us out on Facebook.

Innishannon Parent & Toddler Group

The Innishannon Parent and Toddler group meet every Wednesday from 10-12am at the Innishannon Parish Hall. Enjoy a cup of tea, home baking and a chat with other parents while the kids play, do arts and crafts and some singing in a safe environment. Valley Rovers GAA Lotto

Community Exercise Group

Meet at Innishannon Parish Hall, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 7am, and Monday at 10am.  Classes are free, but donations accepted. Presented by Lighthouse Counselling. For more information, call Curtis 085-8237118.

Bandon Flower & Garden Club

Bandon Flower and Garden Club present ‘ A Teach In ‘ Contemporary Style by Siobhan McInerney A.O.I.F.A in The Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon at 8pm on Monday 17th September. Visitors most welcome.

Bandon Golf Bridge Club

The club will meet on Thursdays in The Munster Arms Hotel with play beginning at 7.45pm. New members more than welcome.

Cork Dementia Workshops Cork

The Ambassador Hotel (September 18th).  The workshop will last about three hours from 10:00 – 13:00 and family carers will also be reimbursed for any travel expenses or care costs, should they attend a workshop. Refreshments will be provided for each person during the meeting and lunch will be served after the workshop.

If you know of any family carers of people with dementia that may wish to take part in the workshop then we would be very grateful if you could pass along this information. There is also information included about other workshops around the country for your attention. Buy My Dress

The Down Syndrome Centre Forge Hill, Pouladuff, Cork are holding a fund raising event at the Clayton Hotel Cork City on the 29th September 2018 which will raise monies for the centre which is an early intervention centre. The Centre caters for children from the Munster area.  Buy My Dress sees new and pre loved designer and occasion dresses find a new home and will be on sale at the Clayton Hotel Cork City on the 29th September 2018 from 11am – 5pm.  All funds raised on the day will go towards the Centre.

Irish Cancer Society’s National Conference

The Irish Cancer Society’s national conference is being held in the Clayton Hotel, Silver Springs, Cork on Saturday, September 22nd from 10am – 4pm. The aim of the conference is to provide information and support to cancer survivors, those who care for them, health care professional and staff / volunteers from cancer support services. The conference is free of charge but registration is essential.
