Station Mass Station for Russell Hill & Crowhill on Friday 24th May at 8pm in Teresa & Martin Cremin’s.  Station forKnockroe, Farnagow & Ballymountain South at Sheila & Jim Connolly’s Wednesday 12th June at 8pm (no morning mass that day).  Station forSkevanish at Helen & Martin O’Callaghan’s Thursday 13th June at 7.30pm (9.30am Mass Thursday 14th in Knockavilla).   A mass will take place on Wednesday 22nd May in Innishannon at 7.30pm & Thursday 23rd May in Knockavilla at 9.30 for the areas who had no station mass this Spring.

Invitation to Spend Holy Hour (or part of)

In Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during the following times:  Innishannon Wednesdays from 10.00-1.00 and from 3.00 to 9.00;    Knockavilla Fridays after the 9.30 Mass and in Upton on Tuesdays from 10.30-1.00, from 3.00-5.00 and from 8.00-9.00.

May Rosary in the Grotto

On Sunday and Thursday evenings at 8pm there will be Rosary in the Grotto for all who are sick in our Parish.  And in thanksgiving for those who are recovering.  Everybody welcome.

The Friendship Club

Dawn Chorus Walk

On Sun 26th May at 6am there will be a walk in the Bleach and Dromkeen Wood led by Ornithologist John Quinn.  This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about our bird song from an expert in the field who is a Professor of Zoology in UCC and who has positioned the bird boxes that you see in the Bleach and Dromkeen Wood.  Everybody welcome in the Bleach car park at 6am on Sunday 26th May. So set you alarm and get your day off to a great start!

Innishvilla Soccer, Well Done

Well done to Innishvilla’s second junior team on gaining promotion to Division 2 following their 3, 2 win over Lakewood in a “winner takes all” final league game.  It augers well for the future with Darragh Keane, Neil Collins & Jason Cronin who are some of our youth players who played a major part in this promotion.

Congratulations to Innishannon Badminton Club

Congratulations to Innishannon Badminton Club on winning the Cork County Badminton Association Mixed League.  Following on from this, representing Innishannon to win silver in the Munster Badminton Finals in UL recently.  New members are always welcome at social or competitive level for both ladies & gents.  For info contact Rachel 086-8256101 / Catherine 086-1731730.

Gardens & Galleries

This year Gardens and Galleries will be held on Sat 15th and Sun 16th June.   Cor Castle is open again, together with many new gardens and a varied palette of artists.  So hold the date and invite your friends to Innishannon that weekend to enjoy a creative artistic and stimulating visit. 

Castlelack N.S Open Sports Day

Castlelack National School are holding an open School Sports on Friday 24th May at 6.30pm, at Valley Rovers G.A.A. Grounds Brinny.  All Are Welcome. 

Gurrane National School 50 Years of Sporting Fun (Mass/Refreshments)

2019 marks the 50th Gurrane School Sports. Please join us in celebrating this fantastic milestone and the significant contribution made by parents, teachers, pupils and members of the local community on Sunday 26th May at 1.30pm for a celebratory mass in the school. Irish Blood Transfusion Service, Thank You

On behalf of The Irish Blood Transfusion Service.  Please pass on our thanks to all who contributed to the running of this Clinic.  323   Donors attended our Blood Donor Clinic in Bandon GAA Pavilion.  This generosity and commitment to helping others is very much appreciated.  The precious gift of blood brings life and hope to our hospital patients and their communities.

Glaslinn Choir Gala Concert, Bandon

The choir is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.  To mark the occasion, a gala concert will be held in St Patricks Church, Bandon on Friday 24th May at 8pm.  The choir will be joined by well-known soloist Linda Kenny, Dan Twomey & harpist Mairéad Casey.  The concert is in aid of two charities: Bandon Hyperbaric Oxygen Centre and Cork ARC Cancer Support House.  Tickets are €20 and on sale in Brooks Pharmacy, Hickey’s Bookshop, O’Farrell’s Newsagent, B.H.O.C & online at the Cork ARC House website and from any choir member.  Everyone is welcome to what should be a fantastic night of music & celebration.

The organisation that supports bereaved parents, is holding a Parent Evening on Tuesday 21st May at 7:20pm in the Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon. This event is free and open to all bereaved parents regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death, or whether their death was recent or not.
