Friendship Club

It’s with deep sadness for our club that we have lost our most loyal, talented and dignified member Hughie O Donovan.  No words can describe what he gave to our club. With his laughter and song he was the life and soul of our group. His loyalty and support we will never forget from the day he arrived 9 years ago.  RIP Hughie you are irreplaceable and you will never be forgotten.

Annual Pilgrimage of the Apostolate of Eucharistic Adoration

To Knock on Sunday 29th of April.  Bus passing through Innishannon at 5.45am approx., stopping  at Johnny Crowley’s and back at 11pm approx. Bishop Phonsie Cullinan of Waterford and Lismore diocese will be chief celebrant at the 3pm Mass in the Basilica. Cost €60 including breakfast and dinner in the Clare Inn. Earth Day, Caring For Creation

Earth day 2018 takes place on Sunday April 22nd. This draws our attention to our responsibility to care for our common home. In response to the environmental crisis and Pope Francis’ letter Laudato Si, the parish Faith and Justice group has chosen ‘care for creation’ as our theme for the coming 12 months. Please look out for discussions, events and prayer on this theme, so we as a parish can become aware and active in this important area.

Tidy Towns Work Nights

Each Tuesday night at 8pm Tidy Town volunteers will meet at the corner by the traffic lights to work at different venues in the village and along the approach roads.  Help is always welcome and much appreciated.   Tidy Towns is all about community and our slogan is ‘together is better’.

Alzheimer’s Tea Day

Thursday 3rd May is National Alzheimer’s Tea Day.  Families coping with Alzheimer’s need our support.  Please give them that support by coming to the home of Alice Taylor that morning to enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. Everybody welcome.

Scoil Mhaoilíosa

A group of parents from Scoil Mhaoilíosa are entering the relay of the Cork City Marathon to raise money for IT equipment for the school. Anyone interested in joining them please contact the school on 4775662.

We are having a Family Table Quiz in Upton Hall on Sunday the 29th of April from 2-4pm. A maximum of 2 adults and a minimum of 2 children. All Welcome!

Gurrane National School Clothes Collection

Please donate clean unwanted clothes, bed linen, towels, curtains, shoes, bags, belts & soft toys. Mobile phones & laptops are also welcome but please keep in a separate bag.  Items can be dropped during school hours to the school hall up until 9.30am Monday the 30th April. Kilmacsimon Swimming & Rowing Club Lotto Results
