Priests Christmas Collection
The Christmas Day Collection will be taken up at Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for the support of your priest. The priest’s income comes from the Christmas Day and Easter Sunday Collections, spring and Autumn Stations, offerings for Baptisms, Marriages, Funerals and Mass Offerings.
NB. The priest does not receive his income from the weekly and special collections, the only two exceptions are Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Envelopes for the Christmas Day Collection are available in both Churches, if you use the Sunday envelopes, it has a special envelope for the Christmas Day priest’s collection.

St. Patrick’s Upton
Vigil Mass on Christmas Eve at 9pm and Christmas Day at 11am. New Year’s Day, following the Mass, a Holy Hour will take place. Benediction, rosary and consecration prayers to Our Lady to pray for life and faith in Ireland. Adoration will not be held on Tuesday 24th or 31st December. Back to usual on Tuesday 7th January 2020. Let us pray for one another over the Christmas.

I would like to wish our new Board of Management, staff, pupils and parents a very happy and peaceful Christmas. We have had a very busy first term in Scoil Mhaoilíosa including gymnastics, swimming, hurling training, VEX Robotics, Junior Achievement, Steam Engineering in a Box to name just a few! We all thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Sing Along on the 12th of December which ended 2019 on a high note! We are looking forward to all that 2020 will bring to Scoil Mhaoilíosa!

Valley Rovers Community Breakfast Morning
On Sunday morning 22nd December 9.30-12.30 in the Parish Hall. Last year’s event was a great success & we look forward to seeing you all again this year. All proceeds go towards the continued development of parish facilities for the benefit of everyone in the parish. The annual Poc Fada will take place on St Stephen’s day. Registration will be from 11.30am in Crowley’s of Innishannon and puck off will be at 12.

We are running our annual charity Christmas morning swim. It takes place at Garrylucas Beach at 11.30am on Christmas morning. The two charities being supported this year are fundraising for Jayden and the Down Syndrome Centre Cork – two very worthy charities who would benefit greatly from the proceeds. Cork Stand Together, Appeal for the Homeless in Cork
Christmas can be a very tough time for people & there are so many people struggling in the city. Weekly we try to concentrate on the essentials & offer some hope & the love of Jesus. We are asking for your help, so we can offer a bit extra coming up to Christmas. We will be putting packages together, some of the items we would love to include are: Perfume/scents/aftershave, make up/cosmetics/tobacco/cigarettes/selection boxes or Christmas treats/cinema passes/meal vouchers/coffee voucher.
