Knockavilla Church

Are looking for volunteers for a one month in the year roster for church cleaning and altar flowers.  Any help much appreciated.  Contact Mary 086-3775320.

Invitation to Spend Holy Hour (or part of)

In Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during the following times:  Innishannon Wednesdays from 10.00-1.00 and from 3.00 to 9.00;    Knockavilla Fridays after the 9.30 Mass and in Upton on Tuesdays from 10.30-1.00, from 3.00-5.00 and from 8.00-9.00.

Innishannon I.C.A

Meeting on Wednesday 5th June downstairs in the hall at 8pm.  New members always welcome.  Due to unforeseen circumstances some people that were due to go on the I.C.A outing had to cancel and a few seats have become available.  If you are interested in going with the group please call 086-0532283 or 021-4775366.  The outing is on the last Sunday in June for 3 nights & 4 days including a visit to Knock shrine.

Tidy Towns Work Night

This Tues night starting at 7.30 we will work from the traffic lights at the corner up the hill in front of Church, School and housing estates as far as the speed limit sign.  It would be great if the residents in the housing estates and along the way came out to help.

Gardens & Galleries

Just two weeks to Gardens and Galleries on the 15th and 16th June.  On that week end many visitors will come to Innishannon. Over the next two weeks as all the village homes and businesses put out their window boxes and hanging baskets the village will look wonderful.   We live in a beautiful place so let’s welcome our visitors looking good!

Gurrane National School 50th Sports Celebration

Gurrane National School 50th Sports celebration.  A big thank you to the huge crowd that joined us for mass in Gurrane school grounds to celebrate the recent running of the schools 50th sports. An enjoyable day was had by all, and it was great to see the different generations mingling and sharing stories of sports gone by. Valley Rovers & Féile Na Gael 2019

On the weekend of 7-9th June next, Valley Rovers U14 Hurling & Camogie teams will play host to two visiting clubs, Clara GAA & Conahy Shamrocks Camogie, both from Co. Kilkenny.  This is part of the National Féile Na Gael Competition with more than 250 teams participating & over 600 matches taking part all over Cork & parts of Kerry over the weekend. Games will be held in Brinny on the Friday evening & Saturday & we would encourage everyone to go along & support the teams.   We would also ask the whole community to show their support for the club & help showcase the villages & wider community to our visitors by displaying the green & white outside your premises. Thank you.

All defibrillators are accessible by using “Break Glass” unit next to Defibrillator Box.
