Thanks to all who placed money into the fund raising box (replica of Innishannon Church) in Barrett’s Pub Innishannon.  A total of €343 was raised.  We have used this money to buy new Vestments.  Fr. Finbarr

Innishannon/Knockavilla Community Alert – Information Meeting

A public information meeting in conjunction with Innishannon/Knockavilla Community Alert will be held in Innishannon N.S on Monday February 5th at 8pm.  Topic for discussion are: Security of people’s homes and businesses which will be addressed by members of An Garda Siochana.  A guest speaker will give a talk on Data Protection and Cyber Security.  Everybody Welcome (meeting will also incorporate the AGM).

Innishannon/Knockavilla Defibrillator Group News

A “Skills Night” for all in the group will be held on Monday, Feb 12th. 8 – 9pm in Upton. 3. A course for anyone wishing to be trained in C.P.R and using the defibrillator will be held on Monday, March 5th starting at 6.30pm in Upton. River Rhythms Choir

Have you tried Innishannon’s newest choir, River Rhythms? We are a mixed choir singing fun & contemporary songs. Come try out our new melody section for less experienced singers. Tidy Towns Table Quiz

Will be held in Barrett’s Bar at 8pm on Friday 9th Feb with Quiz master Jim Kilduff.   This is a very enjoyable and sociable night.  It is also our annual fundraiser, so please support our efforts to keep Innishannon looking good.

The school are now accepting enrolments for September 2018, (021-4775662).  Our Open Day is Wednesday 21st February 1.40 – 2.40 pm.

Innishannon Flower and Garden Club will host Liam Grainger on Wednesday Feb 14th at 8pm in Barrett’s Lounge Innishannon.  Liam will speak about “Spring Time in the garden”.

Valley Rovers GAA, Joint Celebration

A joint celebration night including medal presentation for Adult GAA Club, Camogie Club and Ladies Football Club will be held on Saturday 10th February 2018 in the Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon at 7.30pm. Tickets priced at €25 each.

A joint celebration night for the juveniles where our juvenile boys, ladies footballers and camogie club will come together on Friday 16th February in the Munster Arms. Further details to follow.

Irish Blood Transfusion Service- Thanks

101 Donors attended our Blood Donor Clinic in The Marian Hall.  This generosity and commitment to helping others is very much appreciated.  Donating Blood is a precious gift that brings life and hope to patients, their families and friends.

Survivorship Meeting

Survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer, their families and friends are welcome to a Survivorship Meeting in the Clayton Hotel Cork City at 5.30pm on Thursday 15th February. This meeting is to discuss the health concerns and long-term follow-up of survivors. Irish Cancer Society Volunteers

The Irish Cancer Society operates a free transport service for patients attending hospital for chemotherapy treatment. Volunteer Drivers pick the patient up at the door of their home, drop them at the hospital door, and then when finished treatment, will pick them up and drop them home. Volunteer expenses are paid. Patients wishing to avail of this free service should contact their healthcare professional, visit the Society’s website at irishcancer.ie or contact the Irish Cancer Society for more information on 01-2310522.

The Irish Cancer Society’s Daffodil Centres (Cork University Hospital and the Bon Secours) are currently looking for volunteers to support patients and their families.
