World Meeting of Families – Parish Event

The World Meeting of Families is taking place in Dublin from 21st to 26th August this year.  His Holiness, Pope Francis, will preside over the closing ceremonies on the final two days.

Pope Francis will be a welcome guest to our country and we look forward to this momentous occasion.  To mark this very special event Mass will be celebrated in every Parish throughout the country.  Our parish will mark this special event with a Mass on Tuesday, August 21st, in St. Mary’s Church, Innishannon, at 9pm (to coincide with the day of the opening of the World Meeting of Families).

This Mass will be followed by an “All Night Silent Vigil” where we will come along to St. Mary’s Church for one hour during the night (as outlined below) to be part of this momentous event.
